Assistant Provincial Grand Master visits Mossley 1381

One thing you get to notice whilst visiting various Masonic Hall in the District is how Grand they are and what amazing settings they are in. This applies very much to Mossley Masonic Hall in Ashton-u-Lyme. The main staircase was set off by a statue at the bottom of the stairs and finished with a fabulous stained glass window on the top of the landing. The whole place dripped with Art Deco Style and opulence.

As did the Provincial Deputation and the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro Gerald Noel Howard Young. The visit was purely pastoral but all important never the less. Quite a few members were on holiday but the business of the Lodge was despatched with accuracy, and the treasurers report all agreed and settled upon for the current year. Those members not attending the previous Installation meeting were presented and invested in due course. The WM concluded by presenting several cheques to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the 2021 Festival. All in all quite a busy meeting.

Bro Rushworth took the opportunity to deliver a short lecture from the pen of V.W.Bro. Rev. Neville Barker Cryer which raised a few eyebrows and caused a few questions to be asked after its completion. It was certainly a pleasant way to pick up Mark Degree Masonic History.

The Festive board was great!. We had proper Fish and Chips. Just as good as anything from the chip shop. Bit of a surprise but what a feast.

All the correct toasts were delivered and received in an orderly fashion, and jovial conversation amongst the brethren was enjoyed for the rest of the evening.

Cracking meeting and a good way to finish the day.
