Canons Close Update

The day started a little overcast, as we set off from Canons Close for our narrow boat trip, organised by W. Bro John Yates ( a well versed “bargee”).

We all took along a packed lunch (not required!!). After boarding the narrow boat, the sun put in a very welcome appearance, we were welcomed on board by a crew of three and informed that tea, coffee etc.was available. We were given a safety briefing, after being told that the water was approx. 4 feet deep, and in the case of an emergency make sure the crew got off first.

After about an hours leisurely meander along the waterway we moored up and were informed that there was an EXCELLENT chippy just down the way. (The crew did not jest!!). A very chatty lunch ensued, and we again set sail to wander back to our home mooring. A VERY!!! enjoyable day was had by all. Many, many thanks to W.Bro. Yates for organising the trip, and the two extra ones he is organising.
