Dennis Schiff the Provincial Charity Steward organised “An Evening with Frankie Live” starring Peter Sarsfield a Frankie Valli tribute act.
The Evening which was held at the Radcliffe Civic Suite on Sunday the 14th February was part of Dennis’s effort to raise funds for the East Lancs Mark Benevolent Fund during his year as Charity Steward. There were raffle tickets and programmes on sale in the foyer and with it being Valentines night all programmes came with a red rose, which some of the ladies seem to be enjoying, these ladies couldn’t have been hungry though, they’d just been for an Italian meal.
The event was opened by The ELMBF Chairman Howard Nuttall and he introduced the singer Peter Sarsfield to the 300 guests in the audience. Peter did Frankie Valli songs during the first half of the show and following a break came back and did a mixture of Frankie Valli and sixties songs, which took one or two of the dancers back to their youth.
The packed audience were there to enjoy themselves and joined in the songs and then they got even more involved by taking to the dance floor.
During the interval there was an auction, with some enthusiastic bidding for the signed football memorabilia, Mark Kelly won the United signed picture and Norman Alexander the City one, this was followed by the draw for the raffle which was made by the PGM,
The total raised on the night was over £6,000 and Dennis was able to raise a smile following his efforts to put on what was a very successful night.
