Prior to the home fixture against Halesowen Town on Saturday 21st January, Ashton United welcomed representatives of the East Lancs Mark Benevolent Fund to officially open their refurbished medical room. The Robins were delighted to receive their financial support which paid for a host of medical equipment. Commenting on their donation to Ashton United in the Community (AUITC), Howard Nuttall, Chairman of the East Lancs Mark Benevolent Fund (ELMBF) said, ‘We are delighted to have been able to support this initiative, from which the whole community is benefiting. It is encouraging to hear that local Public Health Services have utilised the room to provide health screening to players, officials, and fans of the football club, and that they will be returning to repeat the exercise in the near future.’

Carol Finnigan, Trustee of Ashton United in the Community, said, ‘The support we have been given is fantastic. A great many people will benefit from this facility as it will be open when there are events at Hurst Cross. It will be particularly useful when we host HurstFest on 13th May. On behalf of the charity and my fellow trustees, as well as the people of Hurst, I would like to say a huge thanks to the East Lancs Mark Benevolent Fund’
