Good luck to the East Lancs Mark Charity Walk Team !

This coming Saturday 6th May, our PGM RWBro Alexander Sillars McLaren and his team will tackle the Mark Charity Walk in London in aid of the Mark Benevolent Fund.

L to R: WBro Tony Davies APGM, WBro John Smith DepPGM, WBro Roger Fielding ProvGSW, RWBro Alex McLaren PGM, WBro Kevin Reaney ProvGJW and WBro Gerry Young APGM

The Mark Charity Walk follows, as closely as possible, the “The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk” route. The walk passes through four of the most beautiful parks in the world:

St James’s Park
Green Park
Hyde Park
Kensington Gardens

Starting and finishing at Mark Masons’ Hall, 86 St James’s Street, on completing the course the Team will have travelled a seven-mile-long walk, charted by 90 plaques set in the ground; they will pass within sight of many famous buildings and locations associated with the Princess during her life.

During the walk, they will see three palaces and two mansions, all of which figured in the life of the Princess, these are:

Kensington Palace
Buckingham Palace
Clarence House
St James’s Palace
Spencer House (one-time London house of the Spencer family).

To date, a total of £283,000 has been raised Nationally; the East Lancs total will be announced as soon as possible after the walk.

Good luck Alex, John, Tony, Gerry, Roger and Kevin – enjoy the day !
