Priory Mark 693 – Installation at Whalley Masonic Rooms

It was unfortunate that the Worshipful Master Robert Jopson was unwell and unable to deliver the installation ceremony and place Bro Alan Dunnicliff in his rightful Chair within the Lodge.  It mattered not as the Lodge Charity steward filled the office and performed the function of WM with ease. Jack Aston having occupied the chair of Adoniram on more than one occasion.

The Masonic rooms at Whalley are a real jewel and I can only recommend a visit in any degree to their unique lodge rooms. The room is on the small side but lends itself to a remarkable ambience when full, and it usually is.

The Lodge hosted a visit by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master VWBro John Hartley Smith accompanied by a large portion of acting officers of the year. It was decided that the deputation and DPGM would sit in from the start of the Lodge meeting as parading into the room would require some clever logistics, and so it commenced. WBro Jack Aston performed a flawless installation ceremony and guided Bro Alan Dunnicliff smoothly into the chair of Adoniram. The addresses within the Lodge were well presented and received by those taking senior roles within the Lodge.

The festive board for this occasion was at the Swan & Royal Hotel in Clitheroe, so a short journey down the bypass ensued. Everyone arrived safely and proceeded to enjoy the festivities and drinks. There really was an air of excitement. The usual proceedings at an installation banquet all took place with everyone enjoying themselves to the full. The hour was getting late when our DPGM left for his journey home.
