W.Bro.Stephen Lord was Installed as Worshipful Commander of Keep Royal Ark Mariners 911 last night – Tony Hill the IPC did a wonderful Installation Ceremony. The meeting was also attended by the RW Provincial Grand Master Alex Sillars Mclaren.
After Installation at the Clitheroe Masonic Rooms above the Conservative Club, we moved across the road to the Swan and Royal Hotel for a banquet. The staff and owner Terry Joy did us proud with their normal high quality service and food.
Seemed funny becoming a Worshipful Commander after only last month seeing a 1/2 scale copy of Noah’s Ark. The Ark was docked in Struer, Denmark. The Ark, built by a Dutch man, has opened as a travelling/floating museum. The museum tell the story of the old and new testaments.
This Ark is only 70 metres long and has been called “Europe’s first floating Bible theme park”. I did meet Noah and learnt how he cultivated vines and was the first person to make wine. This bit I did know, but was surprised to find out that as the Ark was so large he used a scooter to travel around looking after the animals !
The floating Ark museum is designed primarily for children.
If you get the chance to catch up with the Ark as it travels around the Nordic region,it’s well worth a visit for the younger and us older children.
See its not just ducks that are fun when they float !
Keep RAM Lodge in Clitheroe is always ready to welcome Mark Masons who would like to find out more and would be pleased to keep our new Worshipful Commander busy this year.
